Beaumont authorities are actively searching for a third suspect following a violent shooting at Rogers Park that injured two people and caused property damage, including at nearby Marshall Middle School. The incident, which occurred Sunday night, involved an estimated two dozen or more bullets being fired in the area. Beaumont Police Department detectives obtained three warrants for Deadly Conduct, a third-degree felony, targeting Dontae Perkins, 19, Christopher Herring, 18, and Alexander Perkins, 18. Law enforcement successfully located and arrested Dontae Perkins through the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division, while Herring was apprehended by the Beaumont Police Department Special Assignment Unit.
Alexander Perkins remains at large, and authorities have warned the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous. Beaumont Police continue to work in collaboration with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Beaumont Independent School District Police to identify and locate any additional suspects who may be involved. The shooting caused significant concern within the Rogers Park neighborhood, as bullets struck nearby homes and the campus of Marshall Middle School across the street. No further injuries have been reported beyond the two individuals initially struck.
